Prof. Athakorn Kengpol

King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand

Dr. Athakorn Kengpol is Professor of Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand. He received his PhD in Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management from The University of Nottingham, UK. He obtained his Post-doctoral Research at University of Innsbruck, Austria and at Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine/Deep Learning, Decision Support Systems in Industry 4.0, management information systems and packaging design. His National Awards are, for example, National Outstanding Lecturer, National Outstanding Government Officer etc. His International Awards are, for example, the Medal from International Exhibition of Geneva, Switzerland, and the Industry Solutions Award from IEOM Society International, USA. He conducted and published research about Machine Learning and Deep Learning in a number of reputable journals, for example, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, Expert Systems with Applications, Computers and Industrial Engineering etc. He also participated in MSIE-CBHE Erasmus+ Curriculum Development of Master’s Degree Program in Industrial Engineering for Thailand Sustainable Smart Industry (MSIE4.0) funded by the European Commission, and ReCap 4.0 that is proposed to enhance the capacity and ability of the non-university sector at the tertiary level in Thailand for the effective delivery of engineering and technology knowledge and skills related to Industry 4.0 to support Thailand Sustainable Smart Industry.

 

Prof. Jinping Liu

Hunan Normal University, China

Jinping Liu, Ph.D., is a professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Information Science and Engineering, Hunan Normal University, and a Young Furong Scholar of Hunan Province. He received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Information Science and Engineering, Central South University, China, in 2006, 2009, and 2013, respectively, and spent one year from September 2011 to September 2012 at the University of Essex, U.K., for the joint doctoral program on official training. Mainly engaged in complex industrial processes intelligent monitoring, modeling, and optimization control aspects of the research work aspects of the research work, the development of several sets of intelligent monitoring and control systems for complex industrial processes intelligent optimization of manufacturing, successfully applied to lead and zinc flotation process, iron and steel smelting process and other complex industrial processes, the economic benefits of significant. In recent years, he has presided over 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, and as a sub-topic leader, he has undertaken more than 10 major projects such as NSFC-Guangdong Joint Fund, Xiangjiang Laboratory's major scientific research projects, and provincial, ministerial and university-enterprise cooperation scientific research projects. As the first author/corresponding author, he has published more than 60 journal papers in international authoritative journals such as IEEE T. CYBERNETICS, and IEEE T. SYST. MAN CY-S., TIM, TII, IEEE JBHI, CEP, EAAI, etc. He has also participated in the drafting of 2 local standards of Hunan Province and applied for more than 40 national/international invention patents, of which 20 have been authorized (including 1 European invention patent). He serves as a young editorial board member of the Journal of Intelligent Systems, Journal of Wuhan University (Science Edition), Data Science and Management, Computer Engineering, etc. He has been appointed as an expert in intellectual property protection in Hunan Province and as one of the first technical investigators of administrative protection of intellectual property in Hunan Province.
